How did you get into the nail industry?
I started in the fashion industry with wardrobe styling and after making the nail color the key in a few looks. I started to focus a lot more on nail and nail art.

What's your earliest nail memory?
Ginger McKenna (played by Sharon Stone) in the movie Casino! Every wardrobe change had the perfect nails to match. The gold beaded gown with bright red nails was the most memorable.

How do you pick your designs?
Usually a color inspires what I want on my nails next. Right now, I'm really loving primary colors with a matte top coat. I'll either do a matte single color bright red or incorporate some line work in cobalt blue over nude with a matte finish.

What's your favorite color?
It changes for me all the time. Red is my strongest right now. Kelly green and gray are also forever favorites.

In one word, how does a manicure make you feel? Sleek.

What were your nails like in high school?
I always had a French manicure.

When do you notice your nails the most?
I notice them after a fresh manicure, especially when I use a color I wouldn't normally reach for.

What's your dream day?
The beach, a book store, French sandwiches, thrifting... all with Toro y Moi and yacht rock playing all day.

When do you get your best ideas?
Sometimes it's after a day of going through art galleries or while watching a film. Other times, designing one manicure leads to another great one.
