Nails of New York: Tanya Taylor
How did you choose your nail look?
I like to wear my friends on my fingers :) This Sarah Hoover design from The Uptown Collection is unexpected and fresh, just like Sarah Hoover.
In one word, how does your manicure make you feel?
Sparkly.
Do you have any nostalgic nail memories?
Going to the old Paintbox location on Crosby Street. Our office used to be right around the corner, and it was such a fun way to treat myself after work. And working on a Power Couple set with Paintbox for the holidays last year. It was our first beauty product, and I hope there’ll be more!
What are your proudest moments, personally and/or professionally?
Professionally, dressing some of the most inspiring women in the world like Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama, Jill Biden, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, Beyoncé, and Meryl Streep.
Personally, the birth of my two sons who are my world and keep me going.
Where do you find your inspiration?
I love art of all mediums and am so inspired by other creators. Any free moment that I have, I love to get creative whether that's going to the Whitney or Parrish museum, painting a new print for the season we are designing, or making rainbow waffles.
Is there anything exciting coming up for the brand that you want everyone to know about?
We’re celebrating our 10th anniversary in September, and as an independent brand, it’s such an important milestone. My 25-year-old self would be so proud. We’re going to celebrate in the most artful fashion, and I can’t wait.
Three things you’re into for spring?
My Pat McGrath heart-shaped lip gloss that I got from our recent office White Elephant gift exchange that we held in March because why not?
My Tanya Taylor Danielle dress that I love to style with gold sculptural accessories.
Colorful sandals and bags from the Spanish brand Hereu that will immediately transport you to a Mediterranean vacation.
What are your favorite spots in NYC?
Saint Theo’s and Casa Cipriani for a fun night out.
Sant Ambroeus for a chic coffee date.
The Whitney for a creative Sunday.
The Nines to catch up with my girlfriends.
