Tried and True: Must-Haves for Healthy Nails
Nail health is as much at the heart of what we do as the art we create. We've hand selected each and every product used during the manicure experience at Paintbox with the well-being of your nails in mind.
We asked our Creative Director, Julie Kandalec, to tell us exactly why she loves each of the products we use. They're products you can buy, too, and use to keep your nails beautiful and healthy every day.
Zoya Remover
A cult-favorite among manicurists, don't underestimate the power of this purple potion: it's the best for removing polish in a couple swipes without stripping the nail of its natural conditioners. Plus, it has nourishing ingredients like glycerin to rehydrate vulnerable, post-gel nails. I've been using this polish remover for years on editorial sets because it works so fast — perfect for quick nail changes.
Spa Ritual Remover
Ultra-hydrating with a medley of essential oils like sweet orange, lemon, and grapefruit, this remover is another favorite. You barely even have to scrub the nail, as the polish just melts away.
Qtica Natural Nail Growth Stimulator
Brittle nails will be a thing of the past with this concentrated base coat. Like a multivitamin for your nails, this strengthener contains vitamins A, C, and E to keep your nails strong and chip-free. Your tips will reach hand model-status in no time.
Deborah Lippmann Cuticle Oil
Packed with skin-softening jojoba and coconut oils, this treatment heals the scraggliest cuticles and absorbs really quickly. I love it because my clients can quickly go back to using their iPhones sans grease marks.
Deborah Lippmman Cuticle Remover
I'm a huge fan of this exfoliating treatment—especially because you don't have to use water after it. At Paintbox, we really believe in a waterless manicure in order to make our polish last longer. This treatment loosens dead skin cells, so that we can then just gently push back the skin. All of our manicurists (and clients) are obsessed with this cuticle cure all!
Weleda Skin Food
When clients' hands are really dry, I bring out this heavy-duty salve. It's amazingly hydrating—just a small dab goes a long way toward softening callused hands and dry cuticles, thanks to its essential fatty acids, vitamin E, and healing calendula.
