And as it happens, blue is our Creative Director Julie Kandalec's favorite color for nails. So we asked her to tell us why and share the shades that flatter each skin tone best.

"My obsession with blues came from an early age—I grew up swimming, and am happiest near or in a body of water," says Julie. "So naturally, when I realized a blue could flatter everyone, I was beyond excited! From a royal blue on alabaster skin, to baby blue to complement olive skin, to a metallic sapphire to flatter ebony, there truly is a shade of blue for everyone." We couldn't agree more.
